Y fue en la jornada de la NBA del viernes ante Portland, y allí en la casa de los Lakers lo menos importante era el partido, que fue 127 a 119 para los Blazers con 48 puntos y 10 asistencias de Damian Lillard, 37 puntos y 15 rebotes de Anthony Davis y 22 tantos y 10 asistencias de LeBron James, que reunió a miles de aficionados vistiendo las camisetas de los Lakers con los números de Kobe, el 8 y el 24, que fueron colocadas en las sillas antes de comenzar el homenaje.

Antes de iniciar el encuentro, se rindió tributo al legendario Kobe de todas las maneras posibles.
